It was before seven pm on a Tuesday and even though we were guaranteed a dry and fresh night, it hadn't stopped raining! Ray and I were sitting there talking about the rugby results, waiting around for the next job to arrive. Before long we received a call from a lovely woman on a business expedition who had arrived at the Texaco petrol garage in Leamside and filled the wrong fuel in her diesel Mitsubishi rental in error. The poor thing was somewhat agitated apparently, telling me "I still can't believe that I've messed up the car! I'm so accustomed to putting petrol in my petrol vehicle I totally forgot that I was using a diesel!" We asked her to relax and not to fret, and that these things sadly do happen. She had managed to move the vehicle to a protected space and, as it was just a short distance from the office, we were able to arrive at the customer almost instantly. The contaminated fuel was taken out so she could get back to the Premier Inn she was staying in. Although we got fairly soaked, it was all worth the effort to see her drive off calm and less apprehensive. A misfuel correction in County Durham well done in my mind!

Wrong Fuel Leamside - Leamside Fuel Drain
Just had a good night's uninterrupted sleep! It was 7:00 in the morning on a bright Sunday and we were on the way to help an old lady after she put the wrong fuel in her diesel Peugeot in Leamside. She informed us that she drove away from the filling station forecourt and was pulled up along a backwater lane on the way to visit her family. I plugged the location straight into the Satnav and was on-scene within 60 minutes. I got to the destination and extracted the wrong fuel out of the car. As I was doing the work she said to me, "I am becoming rather forgetful in my senior years and forgot about the car needing diesel since I'd only acquired it several days back right after my old one, which I had owned for in excess of 25 years, inevitably broke down". I finished the job and she offered me a Murray mint and said thanks. Such a precious County Durham woman!

Water contaminated fuel
Fuel contaminated with water, no matter whether it's unleaded petrol or diesel, is definitely an important condition to handle in a motor vehicle - specifically in modern-day common-rail engines. Water in your petrol or diesel may lead to idling difficulties, uneven running, abnormal smoke and, if it's not sorted out properly, in some cases blown injectors. Having water in petrol is easier to clean out compared to water in diesel - primarily due to the fact that diesel is an oil. However we can solve both circumstances quite easily.
You should know though that if the vehicle was run on the fuel contaminated with water it will very likely require a new fuel filter to be fitted seeing that the old one will probably be completely wet and useless.
Motorboat Fuel Drains
